Vienna 2009 (part 1)

Vienna @ 3rd & 4th March 2009

- we went by train together wth 3 other org bujangs..(bagusnya bole tlg angkat stroller)
- @ Vienna, mmg advisable 2 use public transport sbb; parking mahal (roughly $32/day), interesting places quite dekat2,so if park kereta, still have 2 turn back, the subway system is very very d very convenient, efficient & reasonable
- price of d train ticket frm Linz 2 vienna $28 for 5 pax (note: purchase in grp is always much much cheaper)
- ‘24 hrs ticket’ for $5.7/adult, unlimited use for tram, bus & underground trains (ths one ada 5 lines)..good rite?
- Payment is by the honour system. So normally don't have to show the ticket or stamp it again when on board. But occasionally inspectors do check for valid tickets. If we don't have one, then of course kena fine…if kat m’sia bole ka apply ‘honour concept’ ?? Silap2 lingkup company..
- We stayed at ‘Opera Suite Hotel’..gud hotel, gud location.. Tram is rite to d door..& undergrd train sttn is just walking distance
- D interesting places mainly located @ Kartner Ring road (mmg ring route)..all accessible via trams..
- Vienna in my own description is a cultural & historic city. Lots of palaces, museums, theaters, art gallery etc

- Actually there are 2 types of trams.one d old one & one new one. So everytime tram sampai i wish it is d new one since is so much baby friendly. but since we cant waste anytime, if it is d old one, we still take it. penat sikit la since have to carry d stroller..ada 3 mata tangga.after d 1st time, i know d tip, use d last door since there is space & it save to put d stroller without blocking d way. paling x tahan, d peoples really give us a very strange look..

So d Places Visited (our concept always of course jln2 luar2 je, tgk2 d surrounding, took photo & video, provided Harris duk diam la..);

Day 1:

1. Mariahilfer Straße — One of major shopping avenue in Vienna. Passed thru this street from the Westbahnof train sttn to the Museumsquartier. At ths street is common to see peminta sedekah & ada budak2 paksa beli bunga..tensenn
2. Museumsquartier (The Museum District): a lot of museums and cultural institutions are situated here, ie Leopold Museum and the MUMOK.. (not so sure d details of this but the banner pictures outside d building is WOW!!..nudity is an art..)
3. Hofburg Palace - The Imperial Palace houses several museums which are open to the public, houses the offices of the Austrian President, a convention center, and the Spanish Riding School..
4. Kunsthistorisches Museum (Museum of Fine Arts) – Being described as one of the world's greatest art museums and the mother of all Austrian museums..
5. Rauthaus (City Town Hall) - Gov building..yg mnarik kat sini, in front of it ada ice skating park yg sgt besar..& bole nampak banyak btol parents spend time wth their kids..people ere generally blk keje dlm kul 4..so bole spend time trus ngan family..kita kat M'sia kul 4 tgh buat apa erk?? keje keje keje..sampai mlm
6. The Naschmarkt – We had our dinner here…recommended place to find food as Turkish halal food is available here..
7. Albertina– Once a palace, it is now the most popular exhibition space in Vienna, mainly for traditional modern art. The building itself is an experience as well. It is home to a valuable drawing collection, including many works of the German Renaissance painter, Dürer
8. Stephansdom – nothing much to xplain this such a huge church. Not a topic of our interest
9. Opera House (Wiener Staatsoper) - The Opera House is probably the most-beloved symbol of Viennese arts, and one of the first buildings to be rebuilt in the post war era

We thought want to jln2 still, make 1 big round via tram since it is 24 hrs..but me dah tak larat. + dah mlm sgt not tat good for Harris. reached back hotel arround 10++..trus pengsann
